Barry M, GOSH, Maybelline & Superdrug

I picked up my first proper makeup palette and a couple of new products in Superdrug. I have been using the GOSH Foundation Plus for several months now and it helps to create an even skintone and get rid of any redness. The other products are completely new to me and I have not started using them just yet.

I love the look of this Barry M palette and I also like the look of some Too Faced palettes.

This is from a Superdrug range and I like the design of the box. The heart-shape is different and there are three shades of blush which is great.

The colours in this Maybelline New York palette look glamorous and I can't wait to use them. I love that I can use all the colours as they are natural and can always go with any outfit and occasion.

I have been using this and it really helps to cover any redness or blotchy patches.

Thank you for reading and please do let me know in the comments if you have any makeup products that you repurchase regularly? What was the first makeup item you started wearing?

The Liebster Award ๐Ÿ† | Answering Qs

I came back to London yesterday from Mauritius and am back to blogging after about 4 weeks off. I took this photo on holiday.

I was nominated by my Twitter friends April from Travelling Wanderer and Jennifer from Jennifer Grieve for the Liebster Award.
The Liebster Award recognises new or smaller bloggers and helps to connect them with other bloggers. If you're a blogger reading this post, please so leave your links and a comment below. I love finding new blogs and connecting with other bloggers! I answered the bonus question instead of question 9.

April's Questions

1. Tell us about your blog, and what inspired you to start it?
I was inspired by other bloggers like Becky from Milk Bubble Tea, Dana from Wonder Forest and Tolly from Tolly Dolly Posh Fashion. I loved reading their posts and this encouraged me to start my own blog. I relaunched my blog and started blogging 53 days ago today; I love it.

2. If there’s a takeaway you want visitors to leave your blog with what is it?

There are so many other wonderful bloggers out there to connect with, and getting involved with others helps to grow your blog.

7.  How do you create new content, when it seems like everything has already been done?
It's yours. That's what makes it different. No two bloggers are the same.

8. What are your top 3 travel destinations?

10. If you could have a superpower what would it be?

Have a good home so a good job, a family, learn to drive and cook, clean and be happy.

Cake Flavoured Books Tag

I'm doing the #CakeFlavouredBooks tag. I saw Cait do this tag on her blog Paper Fury and loved it so I wanted to give it a go (by the way if you love reading and all things book related you should definitely check her blog out. Her posts always make me smile and she uses brilliant gifs!) This is not sponsored by the way. The last cake flavour is my own because I felt that I wanted to include a book that haven't read yet too.

1. Chocolate Cake (A dark book you absolutely love)
Forget me never by Gina Blaxill
The police say it's suicide...
I love this book because it keeps you guessing and there's a sense of danger. I don't usually read too many dark books but this is one book about a death and is really engaging. It's not too dark and I first read it after meeting the author.

2. Vanilla Cake (A light read)
Girl Online by Zoรซ Sugg
This is a very cosy read and is about a girl called Penny visiting New York. She has a secret but so does somebody else...
I would also recommend The potion diaries by Amy Alward or Geek Girl by Holly Smale as light reads.

3. Red Velvet (A book that gave you mixed emotions)
Me before you by Jojo Moyes
Mmm...red velvet.
Me before you is a very heart-warming story full of emotion. Have some tissues nearby just in case.

4. Cheesecake (A book you would recommend to anyone)
Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell
I don't think there's one book that EVERYONE will love. This book has a sense of mystery, emotion and danger. There is love and there is sadness.

5. Coffee Cake (A book you started but never finished)
To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee
Such a classic! I started this last year but never finished it. I should start over and read it all. It is an interesting read but I started Jane Eyre and never got back to it.

6. Carrot Cake (A book with great writing)
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
I think this is really well-written and has a great storyline.

7. Tiramisu (A book that left you wanting more)
Divergent by Veronica Roth
The hunger games by Suzanne Collins
Thrilling and action-packed adventures with emotion. The ending leaves you wanting to know what happens next and how everything has changed.

8. Cupcakes (A series with 4+ books)
Harry Potter books by JK Rowling
Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare
These are packed with plot-twists, emotion, memories and the stories are detailed. We get to know all the characters so well.

9. Fruit Cake (a book that wasn't what you anticipated)
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontรซ
I did not expect the gothic elements that Brontรซ has in her book but I think it makes the book engaging and adds a sense of mystery.

10. Chocolate Oreo Cake (a book that you haven't read but want to)
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
I haven't read this yet but it looks interesting and full of action and adventure. If you've read it let me know what you thought in the comments.

If you want to see other books people have chosen for any of the above titles you can find more here: #bookstagram. If you love reading and cake why not have a go at this tag yourself? Feel free to give it a go and mention the bookstagram hashtag. Do you read often? Is there a book that you really love or want to read?

I'm going away in a couple of days for a month so will not be posting so often. I'll be back for September on here but may still use Instagram and Twitter.

Let's get moving

I have been trying to eat a lot more fruit recently and have been thinking about how it is important to do enough exercise to stay healthy. Fruits and vegetables contain vitamins that are all important for us. We have been lucky in the UK to get a couple or so weeks of sunshine and hot weather. It was a change (not as many showers and rain pours!) and also was great because we get vitamin D from the sun. It's important to keep hydrated during these summer months and me and my family have been tucking into watermelon more.

I have been using my Fitbit Alta to keep track of my daily exercise and how many hours of sleep I'm getting. I used this when I had my GCSE exams to ensure that I was getting enough shut eye so that I could function well the next day. You can use the Fitbit app or your iPhone to track your daily steps when your phone is with you.

I am planning to fit in doing some exercise at home. I've got to get going with those crunches and the plank (oh no). We could be chosen to go to the gym a few times before our exams at school. We were just excited to be able to watch YouTube videos or listen to music but surprisingly got a good amount of exercise done! Since then I haven't been keeping up and now that I am free I have time and the space.

What do you do to keep healthy? Is there anything that you would like to start doing to keep in better shape?

Spending in June

It's a bit late but I thought I would write a post about things I've been loving to use in the last month.

Bloomsbury have released twentieth anniversary editions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in the colours of the four Hogwarts houses. I took the Pottermore quiz multiple times and have been sorted into Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. I decided to get the Ravenclaw edition because I was sorted into Ravenclaw more recently.

I saved up and was able to get a refurbished iPad mini 4 last month. You couldn't tell that it isn't  brand new! I love it and it is pretty cool that you can open two apps at the same time. Everything is so much bigger than on my phone and it is much easier to use sometimes rather than my laptop.

Have you bought anything recently or last month that you are really loving at the moment?

TV and films | What I've been watching

Since I've finished all my GCSE exams, I've had some time to catch up on TV shows and films. I haven't completely caught up on some of the films released in cinema and haven't bought Cassandra Clare's book Lord of Shadows, but I've been able to watch and plan to have a friend over to watch Stranger Things. I haven't watched it yet. Oops.

Yesterday I finally went to see Wonder Woman. I don't usually watch DC films and am more of a Marvel watcher myself but it didn't disappoint. There were explosions. There were emotions. There were deaths. It is a great action movie and I may probably watch it again some time. I am looking forward to Spider-Man Homecoming and I hope it is as good as Wonder Woman. I'm sure it will be wonderful!

I also got up to date with Pretty Little Liars and seven years of the show have come to a close. The show has ended (dun dun dun!!!!) and A.D has been revealed. It's game over and the finale was very thought-provoking and interesting.

My friends had recommended Riverdale for me to watch since before my exams and I've now watched season one. There wasn't too many episodes which all were made very well and captured in beautiful scenes with beautiful actors. One mystery is solved but now there is another. It's so exciting because season two I think is coming out on Netflix in October and the cast is filming currently.

I have rewatched Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for about the hundredth time for the twentieth anniversary and it took me back right to the start of Harry Potter. It was on TV and I watched it on the #HarryPotterWeekend after Monday 26th June when it was published twenty years ago.

Another series I caught up on is Thirteen Reasons Why on Netflix and it was very well made. There is only thirteen episodes so far and each one is interesting and entertaining but also makes you think. The storyline is a very delicate one though and is serious but can and does happen in real life.

Let me know in the comments if you like these kind of update posts and 'what I've been loving recently' posts and would like to read more in the future! I would love to hear from you if you watch or have watched any of these too.

"A whole new world" at the theatre ๐ŸŽถ

I have been so lucky and was able to see the magical production of Disney's Aladdin and share the experience with my classmates of five years. It was a mesmerising and wonderful last trip to have have with them. The cast did a really amazing job with not only their acting, but their singing too. It was a bittersweet evening for me but the show really impressed and I'm glad that we chose to see this on what may be the last time we see some of our friends.

I have only recently started going to the theatre and this is the second play I have watched. The first play I have seen was Shakespeare's Hamlet and the it was amazing as the cast consisted of actors that I have seen on-screen. It was whole new world and experience seeing them perform in real time and right in front of your eyes.

It was worth returning home at 11:00 in the night to get to see the brilliant job that the cast delivered both times I watched a play. It is different from watching a film in the cinema or at home and I think I had more of an appreciation for the actors seeing them working in front of me. On top of the great time I had, I was able to pass the theatre where Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Parts 1 and 2 are being performed in London.

The theatre is so different to the cinema and it is such an amazing experience to have so if you have a chance to get tickets for a play of a film you've seen on tv and loved or a book you've read and it made you all emotional, it might be worth a thought. I feel like more people are able to go to the cinema than go out to the theatre, but it can make out for a very enjoyable night out with friends and be even more awe-inspiring!

Passing Harry Potter and The Cursed Child on the way

This post wouldn't be complete without a theatre backdrop, now would it?

If you've ever been to the theatre, please do let me know how your experience was in the comments! Have you watched the Pretty Little Liars Series Finale? It's finally #pllgameover.  What did you think about how the show ended?

Relaunching my blog

It's been a while, hasn't it.

I have some news. I have relaunched my blog and can't wait to start posting!
I have just finished my dreaded GCSE exams and have been bombarded with a whole month without revision before going on holiday. Whatever will I do?!
I have a lot more time on my hands and have decided to get back to blogging.

I love having this little page where I can share things with you and I still want to post and blog and get to know other bloggers. I am so glad to be back to the joy that is blogging. It's almost 11:00 in the night right now in the UK but I am so excited to share the news that I will be blogging again that I just couldn't wait until the morning!

I am relaunching my blog and deleting all of my old posts. Believe it or not the last time I have posted was last year and a lot has happened since then, such as me turning sixteen! If you are reading from the UK you will be familiar with secondary school and I cannot believe it but from today I am officially not a year eleven student. I feel like a chapter of my life is coming to an end.

This is me starting on a fresh page and I hope you come along with me wherever this may take me. I am planning my blog to be my little online space where I can share things with you that I hope you find interesting and useful. Stay followed to find out what I post next.

I will be posting more often so stay tuned to hear more from me on here. Thank you to everyone who has read my posts before and I really appreciate it if you have come back to read this post.

Here's to the future and whatever it brings! ๐Ÿป
Follow my blog and become one of my blog friends to stay tuned for upcoming posts!
